Sammy Snake's Resolution

His mom yelled, "Sammy, goodness sake,
Get your fangs out of that cake.
That's not for you, little smarty,
It's for tonight's New Year's party.

"My son you're going through a phase
And need to change your wayward ways.
May I suggest a good solution
Might be a New Year's resolution?"

So Sammy Snake crawled out the hole
And climbed up on the wash line pole.
Once there he turned so he could see.
Just who was at the old oak tree.

He saw his cousin Adam Snake
With his old buddy, Crazy Jake.
Last week they'd cleared the hardware store.
By simply crawling 'cross the floor.

Saw Rollie Rattler hanging there
With tail equipped with warning scare.
Sam saw them give a big, "HIGH ONE."
He knew the fun had just begun.
