Father's Day with Sammy Snake

Sammy Snake loved his father so!
He followed him where he would go,
And he would listen, wrapped in glory,
Each time his dad would tell a story.

He liked to hear of Uncle Chuck,
While in a knot-hole, he got stuck.
They coated him with slippery goo,
Then starved him till he slipped on through.

A captured cousin, poor old Clyde,
Crawled on a truck to take a ride.
Oh, what a silly thing to do,
That truck was going to the zoo.

His favorite was of great grandpa,
Who wore a gold fang in his jaw.
His fame was real. Snakes sometimes sang
About this guy with the golden fang.
