Purple

I like red and I like blue,
I like orange and yellow, too.
The one that stands above the rest
Is purple and I like it best.

Purple makes me jump and shout!
Purple makes my eyes bug out!
Look at the purple things you see
And you'll love purple, just like me!

A beautiful violet in the shade,
A glass of pretty grape Kool Aid
My lovely dress of maroon suede,
These things put purple on parade.

It's nature's color for special duty:
For an orchid is a thing of beauty.
The setting sun paints a purple crest
At the edge of earth as we look west.

Purple is plush, richer than plain.
My favorite hue it will remain.
When I'm old and getting gray.
I'll still say, "PURPLE--ALL THE WAY!"
