My Two Friends

You are my star and the moon is your brother,
I see you each night beside one another.
It's nice to have friends that dwell in the sky
To listen to me when I wonder why.

Why do some people do as they do?
Why must I find some promises aren't true?
Why do I think that some things just aren't right?
Why do I turn to you two every night?

I do know the answer; you do as friends do,
You glow as you hear all the things I tell you.
Then invite me to wish, you are the ones that I see,
As I wish things would change to be how they could be.

But if it doesn't happen, you invite me to do
The wishes all over until they come true.
You help me find hope in the way that things are
That's why I love you, my moon and my star.
