Lori Lamb

Lori Lamb heard her mother say,
"Keep your eyes open as you play.
Stay in the fields with all the sheep.
Far from the woods, it's dark and deep!"

As Lori grazed one summer day,
She failed to look and lost her way.
She gave a bleat but heard no sound
And knew her friends were not around.

And suddenly, a wolf was there,
With long white teeth and scraggly hair.
Her heart pounded. She sobbed with fear,
"I know the Big Bad Wolf is here."

He said, "My lamb, you've lost your way,
Perhaps I can help you out today.
You look so tired, so if you please,
We'll rest a while beneath the trees."
