Licorice Lariats?

Wuz there bubble gum on roundups?
I just want to know the truth.
Would those rough and ready cowboys
Make a lunch of Baby Ruth?

Did they eat their beans and bacon
And then, gazing at the stars,
Finish up their graceful dining
With a couple Hershey Bars?

Did they search for "little dogies"
With root beer in their canteens?
While their saddle bags were bouncin',
Bulgin' out with jelly beans?

Did they raid the old chuck wagon
For fruit pies or maybe mince,
Try to tame their halitosis
With some red striped peppermints?

Did each wild and woolly wrangler
Have a sweet tooth he would feed
And then slip a cube of sugar
To his brave and faithful steed?
